December 5, 2009
Downtown White Salmon

On Saturday, December 5, 2009, downtown White Salmon, Washington, is once again hosting the annual "I'm Dreaming of a White Salmon" Holiday Festival.

While details of the 2009 event have not yet been finalized, past events have included breakfast and photos with Santa and Mrs Claus, music, artists, carolers, decorated shops, and the White Salmon Valley Community Library's annual "Holiday Wassail." The afternoon ends with hot chocolate, community caroling, and the lighting of our community Christmas tree.

This event is organized and sponsored each year by the White Salmon Arts Council, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to promoting Gorge arts and artists.

These undated cards are timeless so they can be used now and for years to come. The 6 card packs are $12 each. They are printed locally by Postal Connections and all of the proceeds go to the White Salmon Arts Council. They will be available through Collage of the Gorge and the Inn of the White Salmon.

White Salmon Valley Library Gallery, White Salmon
Contact: Janet Essley, 509.493.1029

White Salmon Arts Council artist Janet Essley organized this gallery show for the White Salmon Community Library to help raise awareness of global climate change and how it will affect us all. Community conversations about how to respond to climate change may very well be essential for our individual and collective survival. Our job as artists is to make art, and an exhibition such as this is one way we can effectively and significantly contribute to raising awareness of global climate change, and promote a creative brainstorm that will help find solutions.
